With a profound sense of national pride, sincere gratitude for the privilege of having our own homeland and sovereign state, and deep respect for the sacred values of statehood, I warmly congratulate the noble people of Tajikistan, the distinguished residents of Khatlon Region and Dangara District, government officials, entrepreneurs and investors, representatives of science, education and culture, the happy youth of our country, and all our dear compatriots on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
\nFor the Tajik people, independence is not merely a historical date. Independence is the dignity of sovereign statehood, a symbol of freedom, the revival of national statehood, and a great responsibility of every citizen of Tajikistan towards the Motherland and future generations.
\nThirty-five years of independence have been a period of great historical events, struggle, hard work, nation-building and important achievements for our beloved Tajikistan. These years represent a challenging yet historic path of state-building, strengthening peace and stability, restoring the national economy, promoting social development, and enhancing Tajikistan\u2019s standing in the international community.
\nWhen we look back on the path travelled by our independent country, we first and foremost recall with profound respect the name of the Founder of Peace and National Unity \u2014 Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.
\nDuring the extremely difficult and decisive years for the state and the nation, when Tajikistan faced the threat of social fragmentation, weakened state institutions, and numerous political and economic challenges, it was through the strong will, perseverance, political wisdom and consistent efforts of the Leader of the Nation that the path towards saving the state and strengthening peace and unity was determined.
\nThe Leader of the Nation succeeded in uniting the divided nation around the idea of national statehood and guiding Tajikistan from an exceptionally difficult historical period towards peace and stability, nation-building and sustainable development.
\nToday, peace and national unity are sacred values for every citizen of Tajikistan. It was precisely peace that provided us with the opportunity to live peacefully, receive education, work, develop our communities, promote economic growth and build a dignified future.
\nPeace became the foundation of all our achievements in nation-building, while national unity became a powerful driving force behind the development of independent Tajikistan.
\nThe achievement of peace in Tajikistan, made possible through the consistent efforts of the state leadership and the active participation of devoted sons of the nation, is now regarded by the international community as an important experience in the peaceful resolution of conflicts and the achievement of mutual understanding.
\nThe continuation of this peaceful and humanitarian policy is also clearly reflected in the international initiatives of the Leader of the Nation. Through constructive initiatives on the international stage, the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, consistently advocates the strengthening of peace, trust, mutual understanding and cooperation among states.
\nIn this context, the initiative of the Republic of Tajikistan for the \u201cDecade of Strengthening Peace for Future Generations, 2027\u20132036\u201d, put forward at the initiative of the Leader of the Nation, represents a logical continuation of Tajikistan\u2019s peace-oriented policy and a valuable contribution by our country to strengthening the culture of peace and global stability.
\nThis initiative once again demonstrates that Tajikistan, having itself travelled a challenging path towards peace and national unity, is today offering its experience in peacebuilding to contribute to lasting peace and stability for the benefit of future generations.
\nAll of this demonstrates that Tajikistan, having learned valuable lessons from its national peace experience, is today also making efforts at the international level to promote a culture of peace, trust and constructive cooperation.
\nIf we look at the modern image of Tajikistan today, we see a country that has undergone profound transformation and is steadily moving forward. Across the country, new and modern roads, bridges and tunnels, power plants, industrial enterprises, educational institutions, hospitals, health centres, cultural facilities, parks, public gardens and other social and economic facilities have been constructed.
\nSchools and kindergartens where our children receive education today; hospitals and medical centres where the health of our people is protected; roads and bridges connecting villages, cities, districts and regions of the country \u2014 all these are evidence of the great period of development and nation-building during the years of independence.
\nDuring this period, thousands of important social and economic facilities have been commissioned, while the level and quality of the country\u2019s infrastructure have significantly improved. The appearance of cities and districts has changed, rural areas have become more developed, and new opportunities for a dignified life have been created for the people.
\nAt the same time, one of the state\u2019s key strategic objectives is ensuring energy independence.
\nThe construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant holds particular importance in this process. Rogun is not merely an energy facility. It is a symbol of the country\u2019s productive capacity, the strong will of its people, and Tajikistan\u2019s determination to achieve energy independence.
\nDuring the years of independence, the industrial sector also entered a new stage of development. The declaration of the goal of accelerated industrialization of the country provided a strong impetus to the development of national production, the establishment of new enterprises, the creation of jobs, the processing of local raw materials and the growth of domestic products.
\nToday, new manufacturing enterprises operate in various regions of the country, producing domestic goods and contributing to the development of the national economy.
\nSignificant development and construction work has also been carried out in the fields of education, healthcare, culture, sports and social protection. The development of a state is not limited to the construction of roads and enterprises \u2014 the foundation of national progress is the human being, the level of education, health, culture and the well-being of the people.
\nToday, the younger generation of Tajikistan is growing up in different conditions: in an environment of peace, with opportunities for education, access to modern technologies and new opportunities for learning and professional development.
\nOne of the greatest achievements of Independence is providing the younger generation with the opportunity to live peacefully, receive an education, acquire professional skills and contribute to the future of the Motherland.
\nIn its foreign policy, Tajikistan has also strengthened its position over the years of independence as a peaceful and proactive state committed to international cooperation.
\nTajikistan\u2019s initiatives concerning water, climate change, glacier protection, environmental protection and sustainable development have received support from the international community and have enhanced our country\u2019s contribution to addressing global challenges.
\nThe adoption of Tajikistan\u2019s initiative on the International Decade for Action \u201cWater for Sustainable Development\u201d, 2018\u20132028, as well as other international initiatives of Tajikistan, demonstrates that our country today maintains an active position not only in addressing domestic issues but also in contributing to the resolution of important global challenges.
\nAll these achievements are not merely figures or physical structures. Behind every road, school, hospital, power plant and enterprise stand the hard work of the people, the will of the state, and a constructive policy that has been consistently implemented throughout the years of independence.
\nDEAR COMPATRIOTS!
\nIndependence has also created broad opportunities for the development of the national economy and entrepreneurship.
\nIn this process, free economic zones play an important role as one of the key mechanisms for attracting investment, developing production, creating new jobs and introducing modern technologies.
\nThe \u201cDangara\u201d Free Economic Zone is also proud to contribute to this process of national development and progress.
\nToday, favourable conditions have been created in the \u201cDangara\u201d Free Economic Zone for entrepreneurs and investors, and various production projects are being implemented. New enterprises are being established, new jobs are being created, and the production capacity of the zone is gradually expanding.
\nWe fully understand that attracting investment is not an end in itself. The principal objectives are to attract modern technologies, establish competitive production, create new jobs, develop exports, use national resources efficiently and contribute to the development of the country\u2019s economy.
\nWe are confident that, with the support of the state and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the \u201cDangara\u201d Free Economic Zone will continue to make a worthy contribution to industrial development, investment attraction and the implementation of new production projects.
\nDEAR COMPATRIOTS!
\nWhen we say that Tajikistan has travelled a great path during 35 years of independence, these are not merely words of congratulation.
\nIt is a path from the difficult days of state-building to the strengthening of peace and unity; from the restoration of the national economy to accelerated industrialization; from limited infrastructure to roads, tunnels and modern facilities; from energy challenges to steady steps towards energy independence; and from the difficult years of the past to the Tajikistan of today.
\nAt the centre of this historic and responsible journey stand, above all, the people of Tajikistan and the leadership of the state.
\nWe are proud to live today in an independent state; proud to have our National Flag, National Emblem and National Anthem; and proud that our Tajikistan is recognized by the international community as an independent and respected state.
\nWe are proud that the Leader of the Nation has made an outstanding contribution to peace and national unity, the strengthening of statehood and the development of the Motherland, and that the constructive and caring policy of the state leadership is aimed at advancing the country and improving the living conditions of the people.
\nToday, our task \u2014 as government officials, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, young people and every citizen of Tajikistan \u2014 is to preserve these achievements, value peace and independence, and contribute to the progress of our Motherland through honest work and civic responsibility.
\nFor the Motherland is not developed through words alone. The Motherland is built through work, responsibility, knowledge, dedication and action.
\nMay today\u2019s generation leave to future generations a Tajikistan that is even more prosperous, developed, strong and respected.
\nMay peace and tranquillity in our beloved Tajikistan be everlasting!
\nMay national unity, as the greatest blessing of statehood, always remain strong and enduring!
\nMay Tajikistan\u2019s peaceful initiatives on the international stage continue to serve the strengthening of peace and stability, trust and mutual understanding!
\nMay the State Flag of the Republic of Tajikistan always proudly fly over the skies of our beloved Motherland!
\nMay independent Tajikistan, under the wise leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity \u2014 Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, continue firmly along the path of development and nation-building and achieve even greater successes!
\nTaking this joyful opportunity, I wish the noble people of Tajikistan, the residents of Khatlon Region and Dangara District, government officials, entrepreneurs and investors, representatives of science, education and culture, workers in the fields of economy and industry, the happy youth of the country, and all our dear compatriots good health, prosperity, abundance, family happiness, creative energy, peaceful and secure lives, and ever-growing success!
